About “Genetics”

We intend to better understand the relationship between certain genetic combinations and smoking behaviors in a diverse group of young adults.  We will ask participants to provide a saliva sample (approximately 2 teaspoons) to help us analyze for the presence of specific genetic combinations to see if we can learn more about the genetic risk related to smoking.  This will take 1-2 minutes during one of your Piece by Piece Making Health Connections study visits.  The results of these genetic analyses will not be shared with anyone other than the research team.
